It is a day-long event where local startups, tech companies, media, entrepreneurship clubs of local universities and several other businesses come together to bring student founders an immersive and interactive startup experience like no other.
The PAK Challenge is judged by the most distinguished panel of successful entrepreneurs in Singapore. As the closing date for the PAK Challenge approaches, judges will be announced and revealed. Judges are selected for their knowledge and experience. All constestant’s business plans will be evaluated fairly.

These images represent the PAK Challenge 2017. Held during last summer, the PAK Challenge: Start Up Nation was a day long event where local startups, tech companies, media, entrepreneurship clubs of local universities and F&B businesses came together to bring the public an immersive and interactive experience like no other.
Benjamin is co-founder and COO of Fundnel, a private investment platform that offers unlisted securities in growth and pre-IPO stage companies across industries to a qualified network of investors. Benjamin started Fundnel with the vision of making a difference to small and medium-sized enterprises that are challenged by a lack of access to funding for growth and expansion. At Fundnel, Benjamin is responsible for overseeing Fundnel’s regional operations and the execution of key strategic initiatives to drive extensive and sustainable growth.
Benjamin boasts a wealth of diverse experiences in Private Equity, Corporate Finance and Banking, across various countries in Asia Pacific. He currently sits on the Board of Y Ventures Group (1F1:SGX) and Sheng Ye Capital (8469:HK). Prior to Fundnel, he covered investments and M&A at Pavilion Energy, and was a Management Associate at Citi. He also worked in the Corporate Finance team at Winson Oil Hong Kong, Taiwan and Indonesia.
Benjamin graduated from Singapore Management University with a Bachelor of Business Management (Summa Cum Laude), and has studied at University College London and Harvard University. Together with a fellow alumnus, he donated S$1 million to set up a new entrepreneurship fund at the SMU Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB). He regularly gives back to his alma mater by speaking at university events, giving guest lectures, mentoring students and contributing to roundtables to shape SMU’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. He is also an active angel investor, having invested in 3 startups in Singapore and Indonesia.
Tung Chi Fung, aged 31, is the Chairman and Executive Director of the Sheng Ye Capital Limited (“Sheng Ye“). Sheng Ye is a specialized enterprise financial services provider offering supply chain financial services to client majoring in energy, construction and medical sectors.

New to her role as the Head of Product at Love, Bonito, Charmaine is responsible for driving the next frontier of the company’s product strategy: Defining, owning, and delivering a world class digital and omni-channel experience. For her day-to-day, she oversees the growing Product and Tech teams. Prior to this, Charmaine was based in New York for the past 10 years. Most recently, she led the Marketing Operations team at Spotify focused on scoping and delivering internal tools and optimised processes. Before that, she was a Senior Strategist at Recruit USA, the M&A/investment arm of one of Japan’s largest HR Tech companies and also spent three years at the Boston Consulting Group working with a wide range of clients from the Gates Foundation to Fortune 500 Technology and Consumer Goods companies.
Ridy Lie is a founding partner of Insignia Ventures Partners, an early stage technology venture fund focusing on Southeast Asia. Prior to that, Ridy was the CTO of Orami, the leading baby e-commerce platform in Indonesia. Ridy has previously spent eight years in Amazon.com, leading various project developments including building AmazonFresh system. Ridy holds a BSc of Computer Science and Economics from Carnegie Mellon University.
Edward Chia is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Timbre Group. As a youth he pursued his passion for arts by founding the non-profit organisation Arts For Us All (AFUA) at the age of 18, engaging youths in arts-based community work and events. Edward continued to run AFUA during his National Service.
At 21, Edward co-founded Timbre (then named the Ublues Group) while pursuing his undergraduate studies at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Two years later he became the Managing Director of the Group. He graduated with a Bachelor of the Arts in Economics and Political Science.
Edward co-founded the Timbre Group with the social mission of developing the Singapore music scene through the talent cultivation of local musicians, and growing sustainable audiences for them. Today, the group has evolved into a holistic music lifestyle company with a diversified yet synergistic portfolio of businesses ranging from food and beverage, concert and festivals promotion and music education. With the opening of Timbre+ in 2016, Timbre Group currently has a portfolio of seven live music restaurant-bars and dining concepts, two international festivals (Timbre Rock & Roots and Beerfest Asia) a delivery service, an artist management agency and a music academy.
In 2010 Edward, together with the Group’s other Co-Founder Danny Loong, was conferred Hthe Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year award under the Singapore Tourism Board’s Singapore Experience Awards. In 2011, he was awarded Outstanding Young Alumni by NUS. He became a recipient of the Singapore Youth Award in 2014. In the same year, the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Singapore honoured Edward as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World under the Business, Economic, and/or Entrepreneurial Accomplishment category. Edward also received the ASEAN Youth Award at the 21stst Youth Day Meeting in 2016. Edward is committed to community involvement and has served on committees and boards. He has been on boards of National Arts Council, National Museum of Singapore and Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE - a national movement by the public and private sector to nurture aspiring start-ups and entrepreneurs and was also a committee member of the Arts & Culture Strategic Review (ACSR) committee (People) reviewing strategies for attracting, developing, and retaining creative talent in Singapore and was on the main steering committee on the Committee for the Future Economy (CFE).
Concurrent to his professional capacity of managing Timbre Group, he is currently a board member of the Ngee Ann Polytechnic Council from now to 2019 and a member of the Singapore Youth Award Central Assessment Board till 2018.
Elim Chew is the Founder of 77th Street, a streetwear retail brand and FastFast, an instant delivery service app. After retiring from retail in 2016, Elim and her siblings ventured into the Food & Beverage industry and currently own three restaurants – I’m Kim Korean BBQ, GoroGoro Steamboat & Korean Buffet and I’m Kim Junior. She sits on more than 20 boards and committees of public service, youth and community organizations, and is humbled by awards in both entrepreneurship and philanthropy. As a mentor and friend to many youths and aspiring entrepreneurs/ social entrepreneurs, Elim hopes to encourage more people to rise up and be the change they want to see. She has a YouTube channel 'elimchewtv' that features changemakers from all walks of life who are making a positive impact in society.
Kevin is the CEO and Founder of Straits Interactive Pte Ltd, a specialist in data privacy platform solutions and professional services in the ASEAN region.
Kevin is also the international author of “88 Privacy Breaches to Beware of” and a Fellow in Information Privacy (FIP), the highest certification awarded by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Besides having consulted for more than 50 listed and multi-national companies in data privacy, he is also the authorised regional trainer of privacy certification and corporate governance related courses for IAPP, Singapore Management University (SMU) and Open Compliance Ethics Group (OCEG).
Having held Asia Pacific leadership and management positions in his 20+ years in the IT industry with Creative Technology, Sun Microsystems and Oracle Corporation, Kevin brings his experience in business development, consulting, innovation, marketing, operations and strategy to his current role.
Throughout his corporate career, Kevin was a multiple award winner of both worldwide and Asia Pacific employee excellence awards, which includes marketing excellence, market intelligence and technology innovation. Kevin holds a MSc degree (Internet & Media) from Nanyang Technology University and Bachelor of Arts & Social Sciences from National University of Singapore.
Kuan Hsu is the Co-Founder and General Partner of KK Fund, focusing on early stage internet and mobile investments in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. He started his career in management consulting with McKinsey & Co. in the US, then focused on supply chain management in the US and China while at Solectron, an Electronics Manufacturing Services provider. Kuan obtained an MBA/MA joint degree from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School and became an investment banker in the US with Goldman Sachs executing M&A deals in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications sector. He subsequently moved to Singapore, executing PE deals at Temasek throughout the region prior to becoming a Venture Capitalist responsible for GREE Ventures' Southeast Asian operations.

Prasad Vanga is the founder & CEO of Anthill Ventures, a speed scaling platform for early growth stage startups. Within two years, Anthill has built a startup portfolio of 22 companies across India, US and S.E. Asia that has grown by 3X in portfolio value. In his current role Prasad leads the strategy, fund management and venture building at Anthill.
He is a board advisor to ISB (Indian School of Business) SRITNE center of excellence, Charter Member (TiE), and an active Alumni of the Stanford Business School. Kendrick is an innovation strategy consultant from KPMG Digital Village. At the Digital Village, he focuses on transforming opportunities and challenges into customer-centric products and services; while maximising commercial impact and optimising the time in bringing products and services to markets. He is currently working with FinTech start-ups and helping corporate clients adopt their emerging technologies.
Prior to joining KPMG, Kendrick co-founded a start-up that enabled consumers to discover on-going F&B promotions within the vicinity. Within 11 months, the company was acquired and the team was recruited into developing a travel activities platform, partnering with one of Singapore’s pioneers in online travel
Sharon is the co-founder at TalentTribe Asia, a career discovery platform for young professionals. She graduated from SMU in 2016 with a Bachelor of Business Management (Finance & Operations Management) as the SMU Valedictorian (Class of 2016), and gave up full-time job offers to pursue her entrepreneurial journey.
